Check Lube Specifications and Warranties |
|
Don't let equipment vendors force you to keep more types of oil onsite than necessary. Several pieces of our equipment come with a specific recommendation for which lubricant should be used. This specification usually includes a statement implying that use of any other oil will void the warranty. This isn't true. As long as an oil with equivalent properties is used, there is no effect on the warranty. We have decreased our stock of onsite oils from 20 to six different types, which has reduced costs and the chances for accidental mixing of incompatible oils. (Bill Jacobyansky, Guardian Industries)

If your oil analysis laboratory does not report significant variations in the solid particle contamination code, you might think that the oil in your machines is in good condition, that the oil supplier is excellent, that the machines do not have any wear, and that the oil filters and breathers are perfect. However, none of these things should be assumed until they are verified first. | FULL STORY

Question: Is it good practice to use funnels for topping up machines?
| GET THE ANSWER
The main causes of rubber return lines breaking typically are related to the quality of the hose, the pressure rating, heat, sunlight or even the lubricant being used. Replacing a degraded and broken rubber return line with either a low-quality or even a used rubber line will only increase the chances of the line breaking again in the near future. Make sure you are using a new, high-quality rubber return line every time one needs to be replaced. | FULL STORY
